'95 heater issues
Hi everyone. Scoured many threads looking for possible answers to this, still don't really know where to start.
Heat in the car never gets really "hot", feels more like a medium setting, no matter how high the temp is set.
Also, airflow is primarily coming out of the floor vents, other settings (floor/dash, floor/defrost) are weak.
If set to floor only, flow is decent ... if set to dash only, flow is decent (i think it should be stronger) and if set to defrost only, flow to windshield is decent (though i think it could be better).
Any attempt to split between two outlets ie. floor/dash ... flow becomes very weak overall.
Second car in the household is a '94 SC and it moves a TON of air in every setting so I know how it should be.
Assuming this is something to do with the blend doors / cable etc but have no clue where to start.
Antifreeze is in good condition.
Anyone else run up against something similar and maybe solved it?

It does sound like it has something to do with the blend doors. Do you hear the servo motors changing the door positions when you change it? If that is the problem I just have to say "good luck" if you decide to change any of them cuz they are......a pain to get to.
Also, have you changed your cabin filter lately? Maybe it's clogged enough to where it can still blow in one direction but not strong enough to go in double positions.

I would change the cabin filter anyway. Or actually, what I would do personally, if the cabin filter looks good enough to not want to spend the cash, I would take out the filter, put it back together, and run the HVAC system in all the different ways just to see if it changes the air flow. If it stays the same, throw the filter back in. This way, you only waste 10 minutes time, no cash. I like saving money. just to waste it somewhere else.
