Car won't start, clicking noise?
hi ! i bought a ls 400 1991 3 weeks ago, i drove it almost everyday then i left it in my driveway for 1 week because i was using my other car. This morning i was about to drive with the LS but the car just simply wont start. it doesn't even try to start. each time i turn the key it makes a clicking noise(must be in or around the engine). Everything related with electronic works, so i dont think its a battery problem.
im very very new to lexus, so maybe its just a simple issue that i don'T know.
anyone can help me here ? i was about to take the car to the toyota dealer to get some reperation(brakes, changing battery, etc.) but now doesn't even start, so i think i must solve this problem by my own first.
please let me know
thanks in advance

Have you tried jump starting your LS? If you can, then the battery is probably bad. During the last 16 years, I went though a lot of batteries (about seven) on my two LS400's -- a new one every 3 - 4 years.
Now I don't even bother to wait until the battery fails -- I even have a note on my PDA to remind myself to replace the battery in my LS on 11/01/2008!

Have someone with another car connect jumper cables from their battery to yours. They keep their car running and then you try to start your car. The best explanation, with detailed instructions, is in your Lexus manual. Its somewhere near the end of it.

ive had this happen plenty of times on my other cars.
good thing you checked that before you replaced the starter
