Default Occasional problem with keyless entry

Occasionally when I press the unlock button two times consecutively nothing occurs for the second press. Only the driver's door unlocks. If I continue pressing the unlock button, again, the car acts as if it would unlock the driver's door. I have two remotes for the car, both with fresh batteries, and this occurs with both remotes. This problem does not manifest itself always; it just started recurring after over a week of flawless operation. Thoughts?

I have this too and it's a timing issue. The manual has reference for a specific delay for the second button push to unlock all doors. To fast and nothing, too slow, it only does the driver door.

Old thread, but I'd like to gather more feedback. Also, occasionally the trunk will not open when I'm holding down the button, and it often takes multiple presses. I had a technician look at both my remotes and they checked out okay, so it's something with the receiver itself. Also, on occasion even when hitting unlock one time to unlock the driver's door it doesn't work.

Does anyone know where the receiver stuff is? I have a new transmitter and I can not get it to work. I get the car to do all the clicks but when it comes to pressing the new transmitter button, it never seems to take it and do the one click accept code. I think MAYBE the receiver may not be 100%. Anyone know where it is?

sounds like the solenoid attached to the cable itself is busted

Yes, it's annoying...you have to hit both buttons within 3 secs to get them all to unlock, but I often have to multi-click like an idiot to get it right.

Is there a way to make one click open all doors, like with the 3rd gen GS keyless entry?

My problem has nothing to do with timing. The computer or another component in the car is faulty. Today I replaced the keyless entry computer and programmed my remotes to work with it, so hopefully this will fix it. Only time will tell since my remotes seem to have good days and bad days.

The receiver sits above the ECM, right behind the CD changer. It attaches to the ECM upper bracket.

I bought mine for $35 from a salvage yard. A new computer from Lexus is around $600 USD.
