I have a 1990 LS400. It have over 260,000 miles on it and it is still running.

Recently I noticed when I turn the engine off I get a series of fast beeping sounds. It contiunes even after I take the key out of the ignition. It probably last less than 30 seconds.

I don't know what the problem is... I looked in my manual and online with no luck.

Any ideas? I don't want to take the car to the dealer to get it diagnosed.

is your sunroof open? this noise perplexed me as well until i learned (i have a 93) that the noise only occurred when i had the sunroof cracked or open...its a pretty cool feature

yup, what he said above. Maybe you've got the sunroof tilted.

sunroof open or tilted as the above members stated, or the windows open as well.

After all these years and about 275,000 miles on my 1993 LS-400 I heard the beeping sound for the first time. Had no clue what it was, Club Lexus saved me again ! I’m a long time member. Thank you !
