LS 400 Starter Replacement

Hey Guys & Gals,
ANYTIME YOU OPEN THAT HOOD AND START STICKING YOUR HANDS INTO PLACES--WORK SAFE-TAKE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OFF FIRST! ANYTIME I AM WORKING ON ANY FUEL LINES, I DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE, REMOVE THE FUSE FOR THE ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP AND--REMOVE THE GAS CAP TO RELIEVE PRESSURE! ALSO, WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR ELCTRO-MAG TO DISCHARGE! IN TODAYS MARKET A ZAP FROM ONE OF THOSE WILL USUALLY KNOCK THE NORMAL MAN TO HIS KNEES IF--AND--AND--MAYBE STOP THE HEART. ALSO, WHEN WORKING UNDER A CAR, HAVE PROPER JACK STANDS(USE THEM) AND A JACK AND HAVE A FRIEND HANG OUT WITH YOU! P.S. NOT YOUR WIFEE IF YOU HAVE A LARGE INSURANCE POLICY ON ACCIDENTAL DEATH! THEY PAY DOUBLE! HA! HA!

I just wanted to add this vo link for anybody who may need it for starter replacement since it is truely such a *****! Who the hell thought to bury it in the freakn motor!?! An ******* who doesn't do diy work that's who! Anyways the video says 1991-2005 gs400...but I'm pretty sure it the 1uzfe engine like my 92 ls400...just maybe different looks for cover & intake manifold, & battery on the opposite side but other than that seemed the same. Unfortunately I didn't find this til day 2 almost to the starter, but maybe it could help someone else in the future!

pretty much convinced that trollface was on the design team of the Ls400, and decided where the starter for the engine would be.

the starter is the one part a Ls400 owner should NEVER have to see... lol

Putting the starter there is what puts the L in LS400, even Cadillac does that, its a Luxury car deal. Its just too bad they didn't add a hand crank for the just incase the starter fails.
