Default XM antenna routing

On our car, we don't have any visible rubber strips on the windshield like on domestic cars, so I'm having a bear of a time of finding a routing for an XM antenna. I was thinking maybe running the cable from my center console to the trunk, and then the antenna just clings onto the trunk lid. Good idea?

why dont you try to just rout the cable to the rear deack, instead of outside the car? i doubt that the glass and defroster wires would make much difference in reception. or you could try what some of the SC guys do and get a 3-piece spoiler to hide the antenna under.

I put mine on the rear deck and routed the antenna wire along the passenger side trim molding all the way to the ft passenger foot well, then I routed the cable under the dash trim (below the glovebox) and pushed it through the center consule (I pulled out the trim around the ashtray/shifter/cup holder).

i don't have any reception issue with in on the rear deck.

Sorry, I have a GS, but I think it very similar to your LS.

Hmm... I can get the antenna down. Now, I have the Delphi Roady2, and I just need to figure out about powering the damn thing, i want to tap into the car phone plugs in the center console. And also, I want to side mount the Roady in way so I can have a iPod right next to it.

another idea I have is to hollow out the ashtray after taking out the coin tray, but I need to find a cheap ashtray to sacrifice to the name of science. I slipped the width of the Roady in, and it seems like it can squeeze in with modifications to the inner workings.
