Insurance claim: how much value is lost on a 96 LS due to moderate accident
I was trying to settle an accident claim on my 96 LS 400 (105k in excellent shape before the accident in which someone rear ended it) . The damage included rear bumper, rear lamp, rear quarter panel, anetnna, etc). The body shop came with a bill of $3,199. My question is: how much to claim for the value lost due to the accident even it is fixed :uh: ? We all know we don't want to touch a Lexus that has an accident history but I don't know how to put a value on it. Could you folks provide some guidance as how much loss to claim? Would $2,000 be a reasonable amount?
Thank you for your valuable input  . pikachu6315 |
well I am dealing with this right now well 23 days into the process I have received Nothing in compensation for down time, they are fixing my 93 with fairly moderate dammage and 217000 miles i had no say so in this matter according to the insurance company. the dammage so far is what the insurance paid body shop is 5102.00 without the adjustments they made a week ago which im guessing is around 1500. I wanted them to total it because when i purchased the car i paid 6100.00. I reported a issue with the odometer to lexus a few months back where all of a sudden it read 63xxx. AMFAM said there is no way my lex had 217000 on it, so it is getting fixed period. so on a car i paid 6100.00 with rental car of 50.00 a day and storage of 50.00 a day this is costing the AMFAM policy holders 8902.00 which is a problem im my eyes. but like i said i had no say so. hopefully you dont have to deal with AMFAM.
