Default Cheapest place to get Power Steering Valve???

I think I need that Power steering valve that goes bad on our cars that cause it to smoke, white at startup. Were is the cheapest place that you all have found. Want to get it taken care of before it causes damage.

You are referring to the air control valve which screws into the bottom of the power steering pump. The part number is 17630-16040.

It can be purchased from www.newlexusparts.com for $76.26, and they pay shipping charges.

I found it also at www.toyotaworld.com for $68.97; however, you have to pay shipping.

3 Things you may want to know.

1) Purpose of this part is to increase engine idle when you have the wheel at full lock.

2) SC400's use the Same PS Pump & do not have this valve.

3) Hypothetical: If a dishonest mechanic charged you for this part & then did not install it but did properly take care of blocking off the vacuum hoses then you would never be the wiser & would not miss it in the least. Your car would not stall or handle differently.

I thought if you didnt replace it, it could damage your P/S pump. How do yo go about blocking the vacuum hoses properly?

Simple. You dont want a vacuum leak into the manifold or at the MAF sensor location.
Plug a vacuum hose with a screw and loop it to these 2 spots. Alternatively you could just block each off independantly.
