he will.

the tanabes are VERY soft springs and force the OEM struts to work WELL outside their expected range of motion.

you will have sub-par dampening and a reduced life span.

I had Tanabe DF210's on my old 91 LS, didn't replace the struts (stock as far as I knew) and NEVER rubbed. Even with 4 full grown guys in the car. Still rode as smooth as silk too.

I would however suggest changing the struts if they are aged.

Thanks guys, for your opinions..

I'm mounting DF210 Tanabe on my car, but at the same time I think I will change my factory struts as well. I've looked at TOKICO HP STRUTS/SHOCKS SET. I still want the soft ride and longer life span.. What's your opinion?

Thanks in advance

no stut is going to last anything close to the factory ones if you use the tanabes on them, they are 2"+ out of spec which forces the shock to run continuously out of the range it was designed to and fail prematurely.

but the tokico will prolly last a little bit longer than the KYB, though its going to be close.

tokicos are firmer than KYB.

nope, basically whenever you put a lowering spring that's over 1" on a strut made for factory specs, it will decrease the life span.

you can go with either KYB or tokico, kyb being the softer of the two, just remember neither will last as long as stock.

I ran the setup you are talking about. BLEW!

Buy coilovers, save a little more.

Ok, let me see if I got this right! A new stock strut will last longer than a new KYB or Tokico with Tanabes? Problem is that I already got the Tanabe DF210 springs. Instead of getting complete coilovers where the spring and strut is sort of alligned for each other..
But since I already have the Tanabe's I want to get the best setup with them. I can't just deliver them back since I live in Denmark and got them from a shop on Ebay USA.

So if I should ride with the Tanabe's what will be the best setup? My old Factory struts mounted on the car right now or a set of new Tokico struts?

Thanks for the replies..

factory struts+factory springs=longest lasting
factory or aftermarket struts with MILD (1") lowering springs=decently long lifespan

Tokico or KYB struts with Tanabe spings=much impacted lifespan
old factory struts+tanabe springs=will die relatively quick.

Ok, thank you very much PureDrifter,

I think I would look for coilovers! Don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with blown struts Too bad I already got the Tanabe's...

Default anyone lower their car with TANABE DF210 SPRINGS? how is the drop and ride feel?

like title says, anyone drop their car with those springs instead of coilovers? they drop the car more comparing to H&R springs which is only one inch. does it feel close to stock ride? I dont want to slam my car, but I want to drop it at least 1.8 to 2 inches. I think TANABE DF210 SPRINGS is a perfect choice. anyone can help? thanks!

I have them on my 99 Ls400.. I have had them on her for about 3 months now and they ride great! I would say they are as close to stock as you can get.. But I will have them up for sell here in the next week or so.. cause I do want to slam mine! I got a UAS kit

the drop is not going to be that much on it. its still going to look somewhat stock. the ride is pretty bouncy : /. i had a tanabe/bilstein setup.
