Thanks! I think the red/clear look takes the "Grandpa" out of the LS. :p

Looks good ;) The one thing I didn't like with those tails is the red bulb that they come with. It stands out. Some look pink. Some of those red japanese bulbs that you can buy have more of a deep red color which make it match the rest of the brake lights.

Congrats on your new tail lights. But Im not really a fan of those and IMHO you should have gone with these instead. It makes it look cleaner and simple.

I generally like the look of the red-clear lenses as it is contemporary styling.

My curosity is that I didn't observe them in great numbers while in Japan nor are they seen in great numbers on the LS's in the VIP type mags. CrossRoads has them at roughly $300 and the JP's are ~$1,200. If the quality is as they say, the JP's get my vote but it is not likely I'd spend that on tails.

I do like the clear bumper lenses...just haven't see any that get me to buy. One aspect for me is buying lenses of lower quality than the stock ones on the car. :dunno: When I get back over there, I'll have some shopping time to compare a few hopefully. I'm kinda partial to the JDM stock, amber bumper lenses.

YMMV ;)

I love the new tail lights!!!!!!!!!!! They look awesome! Are they they same ones on luxurymods.comfor $500? LS400 Custom JDM Red/Clear Tail Lights. They say they're only for 98-00 but it should fit anything from 95-00' right?

MRLEXO 09-07-05 04:04 PM

CDW1- I know what you mean. The pink bulb looks funny. I got some of the B1 hybrid ones coming in so that should do it.

Strida- You did those yourself? Looks pretty clean.

These are the ones on special right now for $130

The $500 are authentic JDM ones. These are made in China. Also, the 95-97 tail lights WILL NOT fit on the 98-00 models. That has been tested by us before and we've even altered the tails to try to make it fit. Even after alteration they don't fit properly. I do not recommend it. :thumbdn:

Here's a thread on the 98-00 tails: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=164599

Nice!

What's the law on having white bulbs in there? Will you ever get stopped for flashing white? THe thing is I don't like to see the amber bulb. Was considering buying the LED bulbs from walmart for $6, and trying them. They appear to have resistors in them, so hopefully the flashers would work correctly.

Deanbrown3 - You could buy the bulbs that look clear/silver on the outside but when it blinks it blinks orange.
