Very Strange Problem
I just had my battery warrantied out and the shop checked out my alternator and it works fine. I run 2 amps and the lights do not dim, so I'm sure the alternator is charging fine.
But for some reason my check oil, coolant, emergency brake, brake light, and battery came up while I was driving...
It goes away here and there, but its on everytime i start my car. I'm normally pretty good about diagnosing my own car problems, but I cant figure this one out.. any ideas other than saying bad alternator?

The coolant light is a new one. On my Toyota's when it has been an alternator it is a check engine, parking brake and battery lights. Wonder if it may be a dash gauge issue.
Persian had 5 lights on the dash, which led many to believe it was the dash gauge issue. Normally when the lights are on, with the exception of the check oil pressure light, it is normally a sign that your altertor is on it's way out.. would be very interested in knowing what Persian came up with, as this thread is several months old.

Thanks Truk,
Actually I have these particular 4 lights like persian. Batt, Oil, Tail-light, Coolant. No other lights. Come on and go out when I'm driving. Car drives ok.
Not the trunk hinge as I checked already. Alternator is new and no PS oil leaks. As there is no code stored, I'm stumped.
I just thought maybe someone else had the exact same problem.

Even though the alternator is new, it still could be a defective alternator. I went through 2 when I changed my alternator, only to find that they were defective. Have the alternator bench tested, and also check the wire connections leading to the alternator. Could be a pinched wire or a frayed wire giving a false reading.
