Default Keyless Entry - Faulty Key??

Well Hello All,

My first post on this forum, and my SEcond day of Lexus ownership! What a CAR.... WOW! if you look up smooth in the dictionary they have a photo of an LS400

Anyways its a 1991, and the Keyless Entry is not working. Previous Owner told me it was a faulty chip in the key or something. I took it apart and lightly cleaned battery contacts still nothing

1) Can i more fully disassemble key ?

2) If it is a problem - can I buy another transponder cheap and then program it myself?

All the Best,

LexKId

I believe you can get on Ebay and buy the whole remote. That is what I would do. They might sell them at the dealer. Do you have any pics of your LS4? I really like them up to 2000 then 2001-2003 they are ok, then 2004+ is a WOOHOO!!
