Just FYI, you're not looking for backpressure, you're looking for exhaust speed.

this thread has gone off topic:

i found this as a source for jdm body kits ,toms exhaust , and a coilover kit all are pricey.

http://lexusparts.stores.yahoo.net/adgsgs.html

also found this for chrome grill of the 90-94 ls400 cheaper body kits also:

http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bi...ms&query=ls400

found exactly what i was looking for here :
this seems to be a one stop shop for the eairly LS400
again pricey but its a lexus , they even have headers :

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/model/st...id=2&cat_id=10

now where else can i find a catback exhaust for my first gen LS400 or have they all been discontinued by now ?

I saw the question asked, but I didn't see this issue resolved. I can't find a Borla exhaust for my car (90 LS400). Did I miss something? What other exhausts would you guys recommend from the ones available for my car?

JIC or custom.

I don't care much for Borla.

Really?! Borla has always made great quality and great fitting products for other cars and trucks that I've had. Do you just not like the sound or performance of the Borla system?

I'm just not into Borla. Sound, performance, fitment, etc. Borla is just middle of the road stuff. Certainly not crap, but eh. It's not my ride - get whatever you like.

What are you expecting out of the exhaust build? I don't think you would be unhappy with just about anything. Are you looking for a particular sound or look??

I just want a little sound. I still want the car to stay relatively quiet at cruise speeds with no drone. A little sound at idle would be OK, but I just want it to sound good when I get into it. Obviously, I'd like some performance gain too, but I've been in the car scene enough to know not to expect much from a catback. About how much power do these cars typically gain with a catback, high flow filter or intake, and whatever other basic bolt-ons that I could find (any help in finding other mods would be appreciated ). I've also seen a few posts talking about the "air box mod", could someone elaborate or point me to a thread on that.

Sorry for all the freakin n00b questions!

if you just want better sound that's not obnoxious, get a muffler shop to get rid of the center mufflers and keep the stock rear mufflers.

i bought some lowering springs that were 2" lower, but it wasn't nearly low enough for the vip look i was after, so while i'm saving for coilovers, i cut another 1.5 coils off the lowering springs for a 4" drop. the springs were made by some custom shop in california, i found them on ebay for $75 brand new. they were very comfortable but didn't look good enough for me with the wheels i have.

LOTC, is that your blue LS400 or is that some pic you found on the net? btw, do you know a good site to find body kits and also some carbon fiber hoods? (mostly for lightening purposes)
