Which color looks better

All,

I have not seen many 98-2000 LS400 in my area, a total of 1 black one at home depot about two weeks ago, but it was midnight and the car was driving away. I am going to look at two cars this weekend, both are 2000 with low miles the only difference is color. Can you guys give me your opinion on which color combination on a LS400 looks better.

1. 2000 LS400
Exterior: Millenium Silver
Interior: Black

2. 2000 LS400
Exterior: Black
Interior: Tan (Platinum Package)

Which color looks better on a 2000 LS400, I am leaning toward the silver because I have both a black and silver car; the silver hides all the imperfections and even when it's dirty it doesn't look so bad, but the black car I have is a b---h to keep clean and you see all the impecfections. The only problem is not all cars look good in silver with a black interior.

Thanks all,
AGC

If you have time to wash the car frequently, get the black and tan interior. It looks incredible when clean

Some considerations....

1. Your emotional connection to the car when you first see it.

2. Overall condition of the paint and rest of car.

3. Both colors are appealing...the Platinum package will have a nice interior and wood that may turn you on :eek2: or not. We have the 00 Platinum in the sand color....love the interior and the matching cladding.

4. Most people dont freak about car care like some of us. Take a close look at the condition of the black paint. Good luck!

In these basic colors, the car looks good. So it will be your call as to which stikes you over the other.

The silver one I looked at had a burgundy interior and to me that was :thumbdn: I'm not a fan of dark cars because it is more challenging to keep clean. The likelyhood of it showing swirls and other light scratches is one aspect of additional car care. If you enjoy the car care aspect, no worries.

My vote, silver.

Thanks all for your input,

I currently have 2 black vehicles (one truck and one car) and a silver minivan. The thing with the black cars is it looks real good when clean, the only thing that I am thinking about is that I plan on using this car as a daily driver in NY/NJ area and black will definitely be hard to keep clean. I love washing my cars, but don't have much time lately, my wife and I are expecting our second child and our first is 20 months now. So time for washing the car is definitely a luxury. I will be trading in the black truck now so that would be great because the other one is a weekend type of car. So at this point I am leaning towards the silver one, the only thing I am thinking of is if the price, mileage and condition is the same maybe I should take the black one because it's a platinum (silver has premium and heated seats). But then I look at it and the only thing with the platinum that I see as different is the color of the wood, wheels, floor mats, blacked out L emblem and monotone paint. Is there something that I am missing.

Also how much more was a platinum when new and how much more is it worth in the used car market
