I have tried a search on this site but could not find the answer...but I am computer stupid so the info may be on here. Can someone tell me how to remove my existing subwoofer that is shot so I can put in a new one?? My car is a 1992 Lexus LS 400? TIA

P.S. Can anyone recommend a good seat cover for the front seats?

Subwoofer is mounted from the trunk in the rear window? You should be able to remove the cover and unscrew the woofer and unplug it. Plug in the new and be all set?

It should pop off may need a flathead screwdriver. Or you may be able to see the clips if you look at it from the bottom by looking in the trunk and removing the carpet padding so you can get to it.

Thanks so much for the info. I was able to see 2 clips underneath. I will try to take them and the subwoofer nuts off this evening and hook up the new subwoofer. I really appreciate it.

I thought there were 4? maybe it they used 2 clips with the 8inch woofer.

There were 2 clips and 4 bolts. We removed the built in mounting bracked from the old speaker with a screwdriver and then used grinder to make the bracker work for a free-air 8" subwoofer. This prevented the need to drill new holes for mounting the new woofer. Total replacement time was under an hour.

I really appreciate this site. I imagine I will use it a good deal now that I have found it. In fact, I am going to be posting a question about putting in a new front drivers seat.
