Air condition just shuts off when car is idling
I love my 92 Ls400, but there is one thing that I just hate about it. It's the air condition, it has had more problems than anything I've encountered on that car. I live in Houston so we get pretty hot weather down here so the air conditions gets no rest. Everytime I come here I walk out with a solution, and I need a solution again. So here's the story, if someone can help with any suggestion that would be great......
1.Original air compressor, dies so I get it replaced and do the 134 conversion also. It's a refurb part. (more behind that story, but don't want to get into that now)
2.So I get this shop who gets me a compressor and installs it for a decent price, and it works without a hitch.
3.Four months later.....The A/C works fine when on the highway, but when I stop (or slow down below 20 mph) on the road, signal, or something I feel this quick jerk (just a jerk on the engine it feels like, car doesn't stop or anything) and then I see my a/c light blinking and cold air becomes hot. So I hit the a/c button again, and it comes on for a sec a sometimes it stays on, sometimes it doesn't (sometimes I have to get it a couple of times). However it always comes back on, just that it goes off every once in a while. Usually if I'm sitting at the light for a while, it goes back off. However whenever I'm on the highway or at higher speeds like above 20 mph it never goes off. I'm about to start crap with the shop who sold and installed the compressor, but before I go there I wanted to get an idea of what I'm dealing with. Knowing this shop they'll say it something else.......but anyone have an idea of what it could be?
