Default Where to attach Cargo Net??

Hello all,
I recently purchased a cargo net for my 96 LS so I can organize my trunk space! The thing is, I can't find any hooks/latches to attach the net to! Does anyone know where they are??
Thanks

Quite odd because I know for sure the 96 came without the latches in the trunk.
You sure your rear end wasn't clipped and replaced with a 97?
You sure it's a 96?

What's the production date on your car Mike? If it's the very end of the production line for a 96 then you must have gotten lucky.
Either that or someone had to customize that net to work if it wasn't you.

Each of both the Lexus cargo nets I have purchased came with two hooks. The hooks replace the press-in trim holders at the top of the trunk opening on both sides of the trunk. I installed one on the used 00 LS I bought last year and also installed one way back in 1990 on my first LS. None of the LS's come with the hooks as standard - they are included with the net. If your cargo net is not from Lexus, you are probably going to have to purchase a net from a Lexus dealer to get one with hooks. I bought the last cargo net from Sewell (Lexusparts.com) in Texas. Interestingly, I found that the hooks that are included with the cargo nets for Toyota branded cars are a different size and do not work on an LS. (I tried the hooks from our Camry's cargo net before I bought one from a Lexus dealer.)

Mine doesn't have the hooks nor did I get the net...I was ripped!
I did find a small Lexus towel in the depths of the trunk though.

I love this forum!!!

I never knew this was availible. I love the one I installed in my wifes RX. Groceries in my trunk always roll around. I just emailed my JM Service advisor asking if they have it in stock and how much it is.

Way too cool..

Thanks

PS Hey LexKost do you have any shots of you LS you could email me? I love your color and the exaust looks great. If you wish to share please email them to Jerry.Horta@Motorola.com

I always have to contend with stuff rolling around. Especially fun to find various round fruits that have jumped out of their grocery bag to explore the trunk. I have to remember, "go easy around the corner!"

Speaking of missing things...what does the little flashlight in the tool kit look like?

Wow

I checked into this about four years ago and never saw those hooks with the OEM cargo net I looked at. You learn something new everyday!

A small point but we found that the plastic "Lexus" logo tag at the center of the net has a better chance of surviving if the net is installed with the tab towards the inside of the trunk.

Otherwise, when large items (even large light items) are in the net, the logo tab sometimes ends up right on the trunk opening sill - and then "crunch!" it's broken and then you have a "Le" logo tag!
