Default Front end swap LS430 to LS400

I can get a donor car, 2004 LS430. I would like to swap front end to my 99 LS400. I also would like to do engine swap with my higher miles engine.

I've read that engine/tranny swap is possible, but does anyone know if front end is the same? I am talking about fenders, hood, bumper, lights etc.

If you're asking "is the front end (fender, hood, bumper, etc.) a direct swap?" then no, it's not. It'll require some custom work done by a good body shop to get it to fit properly. Personally, I think the '99 LS00 front end looks better than the '03 LS430 so I wouldn't do the swap unless I'm swapping an '04 LS430 onto it....but that's JMO.

I will be getting a donor 2004(not 2003 like I wrote before). It is salvaged cat that was in the accident. There was some front damage on my '99. I will get 2004 to install new engine/tranny into my high miles 1999. I was wondering if fenders will fit, so I wouldn't have to buy extra 99 fenders and bumper.

Do you know why 2004 wouldn't fit on '99? Is it completely different? I was planning to swap the entire front end. By the way are 2003 and 2004 share the same body?

Thanks

I highly doubt '03/'04 fenders will just clip onto the body of your '99 without any extra body work.

It's possible to fit an '04 front end onto a '99, but like I said before...it just requires custom body work. With money and a good body shop, you can pretty much get almost any front end onto your LS...which is why you see Celsiors in Japan with MB S-class front ends and BMW front ends. I believe '03 and '04 models are the same chasiss, but I know for a fact that they're not the same body...the front and (possibly) rear ends are slightly different.

The front end swaps are interesting and when well executed, catchy. I feel it is a very expensive cosmetic mod though.

Thanks for reply. I was asking this question because '98-2000 front end is interchangable with 1990-1997. I understand that you can put anything you want on Lexus, but I was asking if it is as simple as drop-in solution.

No prob...sorry if my response sounded somewhat confusing. I should've just mentioned earlier (forgot to ) that since '98-'00 and '01-'04 end is interchangeable with '90-'94 that '01-'04 should be interchangeable with '98-'00 as well.

What about a rear bumper swap, I want to add some exposed dual pipes on the back. I really like the way it looks on the 04.

im not sure but i always thought that the 98-00 was considered the 3rd gen, or is it just an updated version of the 2nd gen??

Correct me if I'm wrong:
1st gen 89-94: UCF10
2-nd gen 94-97/97-00: UCF20/UCF21
3-rd gnet 00-03: UCF30

98-00 is updated version...
