OK, I put LS430 in the subject but in all honesty this is slightly offtopic. But only slightly. I am thinking about buying a loaded, new, Toyota RAV4 as a "backup" vehicle to my LS...mainly for winter. What do you all think? My daughter is 14 so I figured I'd keep it for 4 years....two before she drives where I'd drive it as a backup in the nasty Pittsburgh winters. Then she could learn to drive on it...by then it will be 2 years old and I won't be as annoyed if she dings it, etc as if it were brand new. Then we both can drive it...she most of the time but me in bad weather (when I don't want her out anyway) and I can dump it when she goes to college in 4 years. Or if she goes locally...not probably but possible...I'd either turn it over to her or get something that is appropriate at that time.

Or is a RAV more of a girlie vehicle? I'm thinking white, silver or even black.

Part of me wants to say how spoiled your sister is and what a terrible mistake buying a 16 year old a $40,000+ vehicle is. But I am not sure how less bad buying a $26,000 vehicle is, so I am almost as guilty.

Although I really like the RX330, any thoughts about a CPO RX300? The RAV4 is also a nice choice...I just have this feeling you like Lexus.

Doesn't sound like too bad of a plan to me. I'd say it's somewhat of a girlie vehicle...mainly because I usually see girls driving it. It's still a nice car or SUV (if you can call it that?) though...a 'lil on the cute side, but still nice.

Off topic but, Mike....is it just me or does your sig change like everyday?? lol...FYI, I like the one you have right now the best out of all the Monet-esque ones...I think it's one of the clearest pics I've seen in a sig thus far.

When I got the loaner RX330, the Mrs. fell in love with it nearly as fast as the LS...she quickly stated she wouldn't mind one of these...girlie theory here. I wish I had it long enough to see how the directional headlights were.


Brian, I have a couple different sigs loaded up... I piddled on the current one for a spell...each time the Mrs. came in and stated, "you still working on that one?!" A great way to use up a few hours and get bug eyed in the process.
