Rpm @ 60 Mph?
I've noticed on my 2001 LS430 that the RPMs seem a bit too high at 60 MPH -- around 3000. Seems to me that it should be in the 2000 range.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I don't know that I've ever looked for this on a LS430.... is there an overdrive selector or just put it in 5th gear on shifter? Try to see if you can tell what gear you're in at 60.

I don't know if 2001 has it or not but I don't see it on 2004. Also found this on page 305 of the manual: "Always use the D position to improve fuel economy and quiet driving. Only in this position, shifting into overdrive gear is possible. However, when the engine coolant temperature is low, the transmission will not shift into overdrive gear even in the D position."
