Default 90-94 stock suspension question

On the first gen. LS400 what is the suspension system called? shock and spring?

I dont have the air suspension on my car.

Im asking this because I probably have to custom make a bracket to make the air ride suspension (aftermarket) fit my car, but the company needs to know what kind of stock suspension setup does the Lexus have?

Any sites that have good pics?

Yeah, it's just a shock and spring.

What company and you talking to? I've been looking around for places that have an air suspension kit for the LS. I saw Universal Air Suspension and their air bag goes over the stock shock. So the air bag replaces the spring. I'm not too sure about this system, I'm still looking for an aftermarket full replacement air shock. If anyone knows of places please post the links!

there are two companies Im thinking of going for

first is www.airliftcompany.com they have a complete airbag system for almost all japanese vehicles, but guess what! not for ours. I emailed them and they said that currently they dont have a kit for our car. but with "custom" brackets thier system will fit. And they will even give me a discount because of the custom fabricating that needs to be done to make it fit.

the second company is www.ridetech.com, they have a very nice system. It has the ability to have a set psi when you start the car. And can be controlled via remote control.

There are other air ride companies that offer a kit for our cars, but it uses air cylinders instead of air bags. I am not sure how good the ride is compared to an airbag setup though.

So our suspension are front and rear independent suspension?

I've seen both of those companies, but it looks like Air Lift has added to their website. The Acura TL kit would almost fit our cars.

Here some of my links:
http://www.kmwperformance.com/prod.a...991&Category=1
http://www.universalairsuspension.com/
http://store.gaugemagazine.com/
http://www.bagginit.com/basics.html (very nice website exaplaining how air sus works, etc.)
http://www.lowridereuroweb.com/tech/0308lre_altimaair/ (Tutorial on how to install air sus, not for our car but it gives you an idea of what's involved)

That's about it for now. Those are the best sites I've found so far and many have very good pics showing the components involved.

Yeah we have independent suspension, they all work independently right?! If the company wants to know more specifically have them look at my brake tutorial pics, they show the shock/spring pretty good.

It seems like KMW has a kit for our cars, but it includes air cylinders which they say rides a little rougher than air bag systems....

and the universal air suspension doesnt include any brackets that will make it fit our cars. Is there anybody out there that has done any airbag conversion to thier LS? I know cutecboy is going with an air system, I wonder which one he is going with.
