Hey Guys,

I think I found out why my car doesn't have the "momentum" it used to. Both the bolts that hold on the rotor are missing and therefor it is not secure. I think this is also why the brake pad wore down VERY quickly and why there was so much extra brake dust on that rim.

Anyways, do you guys know what size bolt that is, the part number, or where I can get it? Thanks

Jason,

The two screws on the rotor simply hold it in place. They have nothing to do with momentum. If you are talking about the wheel studs that hold the tire on then you have a serious problem my friend .

Earl is right - those two screws just hold the rotor temporarily in place. What permanently holds the the rotor in place is the wheel with the 5 stud bolts. You need to look at something else as the source of your problem. Maybe sticky calipers or pistons in the calipers.

nono, I am missing those 2 screws so the rotor does not slide freely like it is supposed to.

jason -- you rotors in addition to having the two holes for the two screws should also have 5 holes for the wheel studs so that your rotor is held in place when bolt the wheel & tire on.

What is it that we are missing here ????

If you have excessive wear & tear on brake pads, you need to look elsewhere.... Do you have slap in the calipers ? Sticky pistons ? Wrong type of pads ?? Use ceramic pads only. Semi-metallic pads will deterioate the rotors alot faster than ceramic.

I hear ya on the wear of the brakes.

Are you saying that it is not completely necessary that I have the 2 bolts for the rotor because when the wheel is bolted on that holds it in place anyways?
