Climate Control LCD Black

I have been reading and finding some cheaper ways to fix the broken LCD screen on the Climate contol panel in 1st gen Lexus'. Does anyone here have any experience with that. Is it possible to get just the LCD fixed somewhere by removing it from the panel. New panel is about $700. Thanks for any feedback.

yea you could get it fixed for 300 bucks.. search in the threads, i dont remember the number
