Default Where can I go to find out what my check light means.

I have a check engine light one but I dont know what it means, and I dont want to go to the dealer. so where else can i go and how much will it cost me to find out. I live in Jersey.

go to www.troublecodes.net Scroll down & click on "Technical - Trouble Codes" & then click on "Lexus Trouble Codes". There it will have the procedure for reading your trouble codes & what they mean. All you need is one jumper wire stripped at both ends & follow procedure. Thats all - it is easy. This works on all Lexus pre-1996 cars. 1996 & on, they started to standardized the diagnostics for all vehicle manufactures & they use a OBD II diagnostic scan tool as decribed in this article I just pointed to.
