Once I got a taste of HID, halogen just doesn't cut it anymore. LED is the future but, we're not quite there yet. Although, the 2014 ISx50 has some pretty decent LED projectors. The new MB E-Class has some terrible light output with their LED lights. It's like they have a cheapo 8k hid kit.

Looks great! Could you post some more detailed pics of the process? I'm no stranger to retrofits, but leary of forking up a $900 headlight.

He had halogen bulbs originally so he didn't have any ballasts. If you plan on retrofitting, you can't use d4s ballasts with d2s bulbs due to the lower voltage the d4s uses.
