Hey there everyone. Newbie here, but I did my research.
Just purchased an 09 RX350 without HIDs (price was simply too good to pass on this specific car). Now thinking about installing HIDs. I did some research and from what I learned is that I will need to get projectors for the headlights, as well as bulbs, ballasts, wiring, etc. Some recommend MTEC kit (genuine Japanese) from ebay. But can I use those in the stock halogen headlights without projectors? (wouldn't I be blinding other drivers or they are designed to control light pattern?)
I also found a good deal on projectors, ballast and bulbs from an RX330 (D2S, possibly older style from what I read?) No wiring is included. Should I consider this option? Is it possible to retrofit those into my existing headlights?
Also, what are the warranty impacts if anyone is aware of the Lexus requirements?
