was wondering where CL members purchased their HID's from?
i had a bulb go out on me the other day and need to replace it.
6500k bulb. used to order from one website but would be around 200+ for the pair
any help?

 

Careful, cheap one can burn down the housing of the headlight.

 

I would only relace the factory 4300 degree unit with the same and you can get them directly from Philips and get the German made OEM bulbs for just 55.00 each with modest shipping to the US.

I wish Philip would make 5000K bulb.

 

DDM Tunning is the cheapest I have seen. Several other members use them as well. I have been running them in my WRX for a while with out issue.

Still on OEM HID in the Lex

 

Phillips makes a 6000K Unitron HID bulb.

 

I wouldn't go above 5000K. Looks crazy above that.

Anyway, I'm interest in where u guys get your HID too.. I might get a 3000K for the fog light.

 

you guy thing 6000K Look better on GS than 8000K ... I'm thinking to get one pair now ... I have 6000K for Foglight on my GS now ... Looking pretty good

 

6K is the absolute highest anyone should go. 4300-5000K is best in my opinion.

 

Any issue with the aftermarket HID fogs? I've heard that it can melt your fog housing cause of high rating. btw, what brand of HID are you using? I'm interested.

 

Nothing happen to me so far ... really don't remember what brand but I have a guy here in sw side do it for me ... it look very nice ... if you want I can give u the number and you check with him ...

 

If it is 35 watts, it will not melt your housing. However, on some cars, if you dont use a relay harness, it might damage your factory electrical system.

Try to touch the housing after your 30mins+ commute with it ON. See if it's 'hot'.

You know that 35 Watt is only the spec, the device itself can exceed that.
