TSX into an SC300 *Lots of pictures*

I started my retrofit today, and after 7 hours I've given up.

The parts:
-TSX clear lens projectors
-Denso ballast
-Philips D2S bulbs 4300k
-TSX mounting brackets
-Silica packs from random packages
-Custom hid relay harness made by me.
-Polarg Accesory bulbs for all around the car.

Mounted the projectors up, and you can see some cutting of the projectors will be involved.

The cutting was nothing an angle grinder couldn't fix.

Some Projector comparisons

You can see some of the plastic tabs had to be shaved down to make room for the bolts.

I tried test fitting the oem headlight shroud over and to my surprise it didn't fit, so it was some time for more fun with the angle grinder.

Final shot with the headlights on the car.

After I finished the first headlight I got a little lazy with the pictures, but these were the output shots when first mounted.

It was pretty blinding, and the headlights need to be readjust. The passenger side probably has to be redone completely. I was in the process of adjusting the headlights, and the lights just shut off completely. My guess is the harness I made a year or two ago has finally failed. It's too dark to continue, but I made enough progress for one day. I'll deal with the rest of it tomorrow or Friday. :p

Nice work! I wanna see this in person. You didn't deline the lenses? Any color mod?

ACleanSC4 03-05-08 09:42 PM

Wow nice...great work so far!

Blkexcoupe 03-05-08 09:43 PM

No color mods, and nothing done to the lines yet. I want to see the actual output with the lines before I make my decision. The outside of the lens needs to be re-polished to remove the yellow though.

Nicely done. My projector is sunk unlike yours. I don't want to reopen the headlights again. It's just PITA.

My passenger headlight pictured might have to be redone again, but my driver side headlight is centered perfectly. Luckily for me my car is still at stock height, and I can remove the headlights pretty fast now since I figured out half the clips I took off wasn't even necessary. :)

The main problem I'm having right now is that they won't turn on anymore...lol My guess is on the fuse holder since when I originally made the harness (back in 2006) I ordered 4 fuse holders, and 3 of them have already failed since then leaving only this one left.

I'm hoping to get everything done tomorrow or Friday at the latest. I'll post up anymore issues as they happen.

For the actual retrofit everything was straight forward after I knew what had to be cut off. The aiming of the headlights takes time though. My passenger side was just all thrown together without aiming on the car (this is the reason why it needs to be redone), but my driver side was aimed on the car before being reassembled and it came out perfect.

cant the headlights be aimed using the factory adjustments? i mean isnt that what the mounting plate is for? did those plastic tabs just pop and unscrew outta the stock projector?

Yeah, it can, but the plate has its limitations. Basically what you need to adjust is the distance between the projector and the plate before attaching it to the OEM adjusters. 2 of the problems I had was that the adjusting screws would hit the projector when moving it all the way or the projector would hit the housing in the back.
