HID's What to buy?????
So my driver side HID is turning pink, which i think means I need to buy new bulbs. Correct me if I am wrong....
From what I can tell I need to buy a D2R bulb. What do you guys recomend for the Kelvin Temp Color: 6000k - 8000k - 10000k ect.... Also what brand are you guys buying? I have seen some on ebay really cheap, like $90 for the pair the dealer wants like 150... Thanks for your help. |
Oh its a 1999 lexus gs400....

in my neighborhood u can get a pair of bulbs for like 40-60 bucks!
|
OEM color is 4300k. If you want to stick to the best output to color ratio, then the 4300k is a good candidate. Over time, it turns more white than yellow. Then again, I might be biased because I never really liked 6000k+ bulbs.
The ones on ebay are legit if you buy from the right person. $90 sounds normal for the D2R bulbs. They use to be cheaper, but I guess the price went up. |
I wouldn't go any higher than 6000k.

I think at www.xenondepot.com they have D2R bulbs on sale for like $65 each, it's a pretty good deal, I'm planning on getting some 6000K (White with slight tint of Blue) before Christmas :D

my friend has 6000k on his GTO and is considering going down to 4300k b/c it's so blue. It looks cool, but he said 4300k is better when youre behind the wheel.

So anything above 6000K is too blue? I really like the blue but don't want to sacrifice viewing distance.
Does anyone have pictures of 4300k and 6000k. Thanks |

I recommend the 6000K due to the clarity. Our standard 4300 bulb is too yellow for my taste. I have customers who ask if it is possible through parts to upgrade the bulbs, but I have to direct them to xenon depot or ebay to get the upgrade.
