LX470 - Projector retrofit to allow for Bi-Xenon...HELP!
Sup guys...dont venture into the lighting section much but, im sick of not being able to see farther ahead of me on the dark curvy parkways. I used to have huge offroad rallye lights on a pushbar on the front of my truck, was fun, blinded the crap out of people and lit up the NJ Turnpike for over 3/4 of a mile. Anyways, once i got my HID PnP kit from XD for the lowbeams, ive since taken them off and sold them.
Well, i moved now and the parkway i use now has no overhead lighting and is much more windy then I-95. I was thinking about doing HIDs in the highs, but with all the On/Off for oncoming drivers, they prob wont get up to temp and will most likely prematurely blow out.
I was thinking of doing a retrofit of some bi-xenons into the low beam housing to allow for more light on demand. Been in a GL450 and a new 911 turbo that had the Bi-Xenons and what a difference in high beam output in comparison.
so without further delay...
Does anyone know a reputable source to get a retrofit done? Be it a CL member, company in cali, whatever, i just want the job done right. Does anyone have an idea for me? I can post pictures of the room i have to work with behind the light housings, the driver side might be tight due to the battery, passanger side is clear since i have an intake kit.
PS:I wouldnt mind doing a bi-xenon retro for my foglights instead using a hi/lo projector and putting HIDs in there, if room was limited for the regular low beam location. That way i could run 4 hid low beams and then have the fogs switch to highbeam HID when the stock high beam halogens come on.

If you are going to go through the whole retrofit thing then i suggest going with Porsche Bi-xenons found in the new Cayanne (sp?). THey are made by stanley/koito, same company that has made projectors for S2000, LS430, TL, TSX etc etc so the best of the best shall i say. I am sure there is plenty of room in the back for you to squeeze one of these bad boys. Here is what they look like.
They have awesome width and a great hi-beam. The best bi-xenon present in the market right now is out of the 04+ Acura TL but i doubt that it will fit in the LX headlights thats why I suggest going with these .
