Picture Request, 2GS's
Hey guys, I have a 01 GS300 with no HID. I want to see the output of a Halogen headlamp with an aftermarket HID kit (preferrably 4300-6000k) in it will look like compared to a stock HID headlamp with stock HID.
anybody have pictures that you could put up side by side? thanks  (and don't bother telling me to just do a retro/put stock hid in, i know already! haha i just want to see how much difference it is.) |
nobody? i know some people have done it...come on....show us what you see when driving down the road!

The Lighting Forum here is a little slow. Check out hidplanet.com

Honestly, your light output on the road with an HID kit is just a bit better than the halogen. The difference is, your light will be shooting everywhere.
A forum member here has an hid kit on his car and it's blinding as hell. Probably the most blinding I have ever seen..even worse than those civics. We actually had to tape half of the headlights to reduce glare, yet it was still paintful to look at. I dont have a picture to show you, but the difference is HUGE compared to OEM HID. The difference between the OEM HID and an aftermarket is night and day (no pun intended :D). The OEM HID reflector redirects the light towards the front of the car with a cutoff line. An hid kit in a halogen headlamp disperses its light everywhere, wasting light output. |
it's THAT bad? wow. lol, i'm glad i'm not purchasing. people were telling me to just throw a kit in, with stock headlights. i'm not even going to worry about it for now then, i'll just wait til i have the funds for ls430 projectors...hehee.

the member I was talking about is dung0981. He'll tell you how bad it is. We even lowered the headlight all the way down. Imagine driving down the road and seeing a car with spot lights shining in your face. That's how bad it is. Luckily, he's going to do the LS430 retro next week.
Gah everyone is doing LS430s now. I gotta get something new :p |
sell me your headlights! lol
