Default Question about Kit and Ballasts

Hello I did do some research and read the sticky's did not find an answer

I just got a kit with 9006 Rebased bulbs, and the Denso Ballasts from
www.hidexpert.com - I had read that other CL members had an okay experience with the products from this site.

1) My ballasts are making a hi pitch humming/buzzing noise when the car is off and I turn the lights on, not just at start up but consistently even after a few minutes without lowering in level. When I start the car the noise goes down significantly - but when I listen carfully near the engine bay I can still hear a light noise buzzing noise from the ballast, is this normal?

2) My kit was plug and play, unlike the xenondepot kits I did not get new relays or fuses or wires to run to the battery terminal, is this why I am getting noise, or should I replace any of my fuses or change anything else with this kit to make it work better, I hope I am not overloading the cars system - Installed the kit in a 96 SC400

Thanks!

smaller ballasts tend to make the humming noise for some reason. my slim denso and hella gen3 ballasts have the humming sound. my brother's OEM denso ballasts from his GS are bigger and do not make noise. in short, it's normal.

for my setup, i tapped into the stock harness and it works fine. as long as the fuses are 20 amp, it should handle the ballasts. some say this is dangerous and you should make a relay, but i haven't had problems. i blew a 15 amp fuse putting in my HID fogs the other day and i replaced it with a 20 amp and it worked.

if i were you, i would pick up a wire harness for the ballasts. drawing power from the factory electrical system isn't really ideal since they need a 23k volt spike of energy to ignite the bulbs initially.

wire harnesses can be made or purchased online - just do a search for them. i don't think xenondepot.com offers them but check just to be sure.

no problem.
By the way, i want 2 sets of the xtreme conversion but you stated that local pick-ups are not allowed(or did not?) i live really close to your location and the 60 canadian shipping seems unjustified to me (don't know why).
Can you allow me to pick them up?
