Default HID Kit Installed today on 00 LX470

I also posted this in the LX470 section but i doubt it will be seen by many. Here are some shots of my HIDs. Im also running PIAA H3 Plasma Ions in the fogs and Auto Illuminations "Light Tower II" 1156 20LED bulbs in my Depo Clear corners. I also have some strobes in those if u look closely.

I used a Xenon Depot 4.3k HID H1 kit.

For all of the photos ive uploaded please visit my gallery at https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh.../44623/cat/500

And for comparison, here is the stock 2005 LS430 HID headlights

I think it looks great.

Those LS430 projectors are damn crazy. One projectors has about the same output as a pair of BMW E46 projectors!

Do the LX470s come with H3 for fogs lights? Is it factory? I sure would love to get that kind of output. Mine barely light up at all.

my fogs are stock i just changed the bulb out with a PIAA one. LEXGS has the same bulbs in his GS and i saw them this weekend...they are just as bright as mine.

...haha forgot to mention this earlier...the guys at the lexus dealership said i should get a job doing this stuff. I told them to equip the GX and LX with factory HIDs instead because hondas come stock with HID now.

I got worried last night i wasnt going to be able to get them done. I was going to call you for some assistance but i just sat down and said, I CAN DO THIS! Turned out to be alot easier after i figured out the wiring harness situation. Im going to take some install shots later and post them, i guess ill make them a little smaller

XD thanks for the kit, matchs my LS430 perfectly...well minus the auto leveling and the AFS.

Hi 1loudLX,
To install the XD kit for your LX, did you have to do any modifications to the headlight housing such as drilling a hole in the back of the plastic housing? I am looking to install xenons on my 2000 lx as well but dont really feel like making unnecessary holes.

Thanks!

Default Did you change the projector?

Wondering if you changed you projector and sorry if you already covered this. I just installed mine and not sure about cutoff. Also not sure if the tab running along the bulb should face up or down. I placed it in downward and wondering if it will make a difference?

I believe that the stock projectors are being used. The thread is about 9 years old though, so I'm not sure you're going to get a reply from the OP.

At least I used my search, right? There are threads about filling holes to get rid of ovals. Do you know which holes these are. I just installed my XD lights and love them but would love to have a clean cutoff

Absolutely!

Are you referring to the "squirrel spotters" as referenced to on the board?

Hi,

I've seen a bunch of different fixes - anything from opening up the headlights to JB weld. I apologize, but do not have any first hand experience modifying the stock headlights.
