Need 1156 LED Information, Guru's please post.
Hows it going guys I need a little advice on a bulb issue im about to start having. I put clear corners on my LX470 which were for a Land Cruiser thus requiring the use of a larger 1156/1157 bulb socket. That part is done with but I would like to change my current bulbs im using which are amber to a nice super white 4300k HID matching LED. I want to buy LED bulbs that dont just shoot out straight foward, but a more 360 degree type deal. I also would like to go to LED so as to make sure i dont burn up anything because currently im using 21w on a 5w wiring setup. Please anyone with either good past experience with a superwhite or even possibly an amber led bulb that is clear when off, please spread the knowledge. Also anyone with the knowledge of a good reputable website where i can order them or possibly an aftermarket store in the New York/CT area would be helpful also. Thanks in advance to whoever helps me out with my problem. |

Light Tower I or II (if you want 2 more LEDs on there). I'm assuming the 1156 bulbs will be used as turn signals, so you'll need two 6ohm load equalizers for the front or two 3ohm load equalizers (for the front and the rear) if you plan on putting LEDs in the rear as well. http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm I recommend the amber ones over the super-white ones because they are more purple/white than pure white and will not match stock HIDs. |
None of the LED's I've ever tested had a good color-match to the 4300k xenons.
Better you heard it now than after you bought it. :) |
Actually these bulbs are going to be my parking lights so they will be steady on whenever i have my headights on.
Also big thanks to the heads up on the white. |
I checked out the light tower bulbs, the white ones look awesome...has anyone ordered from that website above?
|
The white ones look nothing like the ones shown in the pics. And yes, plenty of members on here have ordered from them.
|
I ordered the Light Tower 2 in amber and the Wide-Angle High-Power Oval 5 leds in super white just for tests.

BR1AN, i think you very much for your assistance on these bulbs. As i mentioned, i ordered the Light Tower 2s in amber and then some smaller ones in "super purple". The "super whites" are definately weirdly colored however im now thinking of doing all of my lights in LED.
Could anyone that has ordered the "Light Tower II"s from Autoilluminations in 7440 or 7443 tell me if they fit or not? |
