Here's a pic of my 6000K HIDs in an RX300. This is pretty close to their actual appearance, bright white with a tiny tiny hint of cooler tones.

Wow, a lot of people chose 6000k! I chose functionality over color.

Default 6000k better than stock halogen?

Hello,

Would the 6000K still be an improvement in visibility over the stock halogen bulb?

Thanks,
gutus

Yes. The 6000k kit will offer you significantly more light output than stock.

I would definitely go with 5000k, oh wait I did go with 5000k. It's a good compromise between 4300k and 6000k and I think you only lose about 50-100 lumens or so.

My theory is that if I'm gonna spend $500 on my light, you better notice me. Period!

That's why I chose the 6000K. Plus, I have TP so it matches really well with the car. The 6000K Phillip does not make your car look cheap at all. It's the opposite. The only downside for 6000K is that the light intensity is not so strong. By that, I mean you can't really tell whether your light is on during a twilight hour.

However, at night (when the sun set), it's really really bright!

At 6000K, you can still see the road.

IMO, I rather see than be seen, but believe me, people notice me when I'm coming down the road.

Kanedl25,

I agree with you in terms of wanting to see.

Having said that, whether you go with the 6000k or 4300k kit you will still get significantly more light output than stock. Its when you start getting into the really high termperature kits that you canont see (especially in the rain).

That's true and I had 6000k before on my car but this time I wanted something that was in between both and 5000k's light output is pretty close to 4300k with a higher color temp so that was just my personal taste.
