5000k is off most people's lists because its only produced by off-brand company's.

Phillips only produces 4300k and 6000k bulbs.

For projector lens type low beams....most would recommend 4300K, but does anyone have 6000K bulbs in there? How does it look?

I have the 4300k in my retrofit now, I like it because there is so much color in the beam. But I may buy a pair of 6000k as back up and see what they look like

Henry,

You know how 4300K in projectors are white with a bit of yellow...but at certain angles....its purple due to the lens? So if I swap to 6000K in projectors....the color will be white with a bit of purple or blue....but will I still see that purple at those certain angles?

Pete

I voted for 4300k as i like the stock look and i have that in my LX. However since your car is blue maybe you should go for the 6000k. Its all a matter of personal pref, i got the 4300k because it would go better with my car color.

Does anyone have a picture of 6000k in their 2IS?

Exclamation

I have 6000k in another car.

On the ground it emits are pure white color--rather than the yellowish hue you get with 4300k.

Also when faced against the wall, it looks icy white. However, when I take pictures of the light it self it looks blue. So taking a picture directly of the light wont help, its better if you face them against a wall and take some pictures.

Soon I am installing 6000k HIDs and will try to take pics and let you know how the color differentiates between real life and pictures.

I'll post those pictures of the current 6k HIDS in a bit.

P.S.
In the mean time, I personally believe that a 6000k Set-up should look like this against a wall

Just bought the MTC 6000K off STIG and they look awesome!
the color temperature is white with blue tint and they look as bright as
the BMWs. I heard that the philips are good but gotta tell ya that I am very
pleased with the MTEC 6000K. I will post pics shortly.

= Here is my setup :P
