Any problem in running an 85w bulb on stock fog light wiring?
i just got in a set of narva 85w gold h3 bulbs for my sc3's fog lights. i believ the stock is 55w, will i be in risk of burning up the wiring if i run the 85w? will i have a problem at all? I've looked around, some say i need to upgrade the wiring others say i'll be fine. help!

You will be fine for a while, maybe a couple of months, but you will end up melting the plastic harness that plugs into the bulb. I think you could buy a heavy duty harness that can handle the heat, the actual wires should be fine.
Or you could do like i did, and just connect the wires directly to the bulb, without the plastic harness.

Well....it all depends how often you will use them too. If everyday...then i would upgrade to heavy duty harness....if once in a blue moon when there is actually fog...then it should be ok for short periods (less than 1 hour).
If i was in your shoes...i would upgrade the harness to be safe.

Just get some female connectors (i think thats what they're called) that will fit onto the prongs of the bulb, from Autozone or where ever....crimp those onto the wires and your done.
I even attached some thicker 10 guage wire in between the thinner oem wire and the connectors for extra protection against the heat.
Its a kind of do it yourself heavy duty harness.

You need a whole new harness with a new relay. I doubt the foglights will be able to handle the amprage from those 85watt bulbs but if they do the wirring will oxidize and cause alot of resistance and that will cause alot of heat and that should lead to the plastic melting of somewhere along the harness line making an open circuit (short circuit). I think alexuskia had that problem where 85watt bulbs burned did all damage I listed above to her stock harness.
