Thanks for all the help I first of all tried to do what I could like actually remove the headlight housing, then I searched this forum....Then after the search I asked a question about how to remove the entire headlight housing from my Sc 300. But it seemed a dumb question in comparison to, How do I change the headlights on my....(insert model here) as I have zero replies on how to do such. Any question like, I like the blue color better, how do I change bulbs. Could it be guys that you could try to look under hood right behind bulbs , then try to figure out, then search. At least I gave it a shot. This forum has been a wealth of info and very helpful. Sorry to sound upset but it was my first post and to not get a reply while on a question that is maybe just a little harder than how to change a bulb asked 20 different times was a little irritating. But I would like a bit of help on this subject as I need to replace both lamps due to housing fracture. I hope I dont come off as such a jerk but I was upset Thank you for any time and help.
Hello, sorry that nobody answered your question, but more thorough searching would have yielded your answer.
to remove the headlight housings on the SC300, you first and foremost need to remove the bolt under the hood and on top of the headlight housing itself, It's the only bolt there, you can't miss it. I believe it is a 12mm bolt. After that, you need to go to your wheel well and peel back the protective lining inside so that you can reach through that area to the back end of the headlight housing. Back there you will find 2 10mm nuts, one on top of the other with about 2-3 inches in between them. Remove both of these nuts. Then you will have to yank the headlight out from the front of the car. it should come out no problem, but it will give you a little resistance. Do not overmuscle it, just try to wiggle it out. You'll get it. Make sure you disconnect all wiring harnesses before you try to pull the light out.
Thank you much. Searched like crazy but I suppose I missed something. The bolts right on top are part of the broken pieces and both housings were lose but would not pull out. I will remove these much easier now...Hate those wheel wells, I just had to deal with them for both side markers. Buy the way sorry if I came of like an ***. Didnt even take the holidays into consideration for the delay. Happy holidays everyone here on the forum, and if I dare say...Merry (belated)Christmas.
