changing OEM HID bulbs with AFS
Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. I want to upgrade my OEM HID bulbs (4300K) to 6000K (Philips). However, my car comes with AFS (RX330 2005). So when I upgrade to the 6000K HID bulbs, will that affect the AFS autoleveling ? And I will appreciate it if you can show me the instruction. Thanks a lot. ;) |
No, it won't affect it.

one q
Will the type of ballast have any effect on the actual color and or temp look. It seems I have seen other Lexus with oem bulbs ballasts, but they look more bluish or purplish.. than mine. I ma using the toyota denso ballasts and 4300k rebased bulbs...
Thanks, Rock |
rockero - in my experience, I have noticed that the wattage can have a coloring effect on the bulbs.

I see.. That makes alot of sense.. So is it safe to assume that if you are using the refletor type HID housings and you are using a standard 4300k d2r bulb... the color output should always be the same regardless of the brand of bulb or ballast? I thought that maybe Acura or BMW used a diferent color or temperature bulb and that was why they always look bluer and brighter... I don't recall them being projectors either... That's why I was curious.
