Disable DRL's on ES300

In my '01 ES, there are 4 different functions for the light switch: 'OFF', parking lights on, headlights on, and 'AUTO'. The 'AUTO' function turns on DRL's or headlights depending on the amount of sunlight in the surroundings, but the 'OFF' function always enables DRL's, night or day. I've always found that 'OFF' function to be particularly annoying, as I'd like to have the DRL's disabled when turned the light switch is turned off.

Is there any way to entirely disable the DRL's when turned 'OFF' but keep its regular function in 'AUTO' mode? I'm not interested in pulling off the fuses for the high beams

yeah... find the wires the leads to the off switch and disable it. the DRL is doing the same thing while off and auto. its just when its on AUTO it is run by the sensor. and when its on off.. its run by the switch itself. my option is just to find the wire that leads to the off switch. but then again, there has to be a relay which controls your lights. that relay is right underneath your feet towards the left foot wall.

check the owners manual and see the light circuit. my guess it you would probably have to tamper with the relay.
