Default High wattage ballast!!

Has anyone tried these high wattage ballasts! I saw some of these from XENLIGHT and XENONVALOT (I think this made by Auerswald Germany ).

If anyone did, how is the quality of these ballasts compared to Philips, Hella ballasts?!

Thank you

Yes,they work with any bulb ( 6000k, 8000k.....) If you have this ballast bulb life is much shorter then with 35W ballast.

"High quality D2 gas discharge lamps (Philips, Osram, GE Xensation, Hella) used in Xenon automotive and other D2 applications are designed to withstand wattage rises / run-ups to 70W so the burning time (approx 2000hours with todays lamps) is not in any way compromised by this boosting application. The boosting is done by increasing the inner pressure of the lamp and via this producing more light power from a single burner unit. "

... That's what XENONVALOT says!!

Any idea?!

We were under the assumption that you were using the same bulbs as the 35W ones. The high wattage bulbs (I forgot the model numbers) are made to withstand that power but at a higher $$$

You're right. Philips makes such bulbs (MPXL-DL50) ...I am just thinking of how will be the light produced by high wattage ballasts with these bulbs.
I really like SOARISTO mod on his ballasts ... great work!! But I think I cann't do it!

soaristo mod is the best.. i brought it up to 75w...and can bring it even higher..

for 50w ballast... you gain about 20% more light..

I'm currently working on a mond that will boost the wattage up to about 100w..hehe :

will update you guys when i got the time... anyone got any advice or sharing or anything.. just email me at bathieutu@yahoo.com

I can vouch for bath hes a good guy. The application in which higher watt ballast can be used is minimal considering there intense brightness. You can ofcourse drive around with something like the power of 2 stadium lights on your car but that would attract more unwanted attention and potencially be hazardous to incoming traffic as you would actually momentarly blind them. These would be ideal to use in offroad situations but practical application in my opinion is pointless.
