did u have to use some kind of resistors for the led to load properly? can u also modify the led so the light can disperse more evenly for things like guages?

No it's not that bad just a lot of time to make sure everything is done right. When your drilling holes in to those plastic pcs you have to make sure it's done right the first time because there's no room for error

What do I have to do to remove the dome light panel on an 2001 GS430? I was trying last night and no go. Do you have to pop out the whole panel around it with the sunroof and homelink? Any help please

you pop the lens first, but it's not easy, you have to pry very carefully

Where should I start prying? I see a small slot that my flathead screwdriver fits into but wont budge it. Think someone here might be able to post some pics? thanks

on the front and back side of the lens, along the edge you should see spots where you can get the screw driver in. that's where you should pry from. the lens is thick, so you need to pry carefully and do it couple of times

again, careful not to scratch or deform the plastic around, they are very soft

My audio guy pulled out the sunroof panel of my car but he said there would be absolutely no space behind there to glue some LED's down for ambient lighting.....hiks.....

Definitely interested in something like this...but I would like to see how faint the illumination is...and would it be better to use the same color LED as the dash illumination? So it would be Green LEDs?

oh yeah, I'm Chinese...born here in the States

Default Illiminate sunroof switches and home link

I am interested in illuminating the Dome light/Sunroof switches/Homelink panel in my 01 GS430 to help me find the right button/control at night. I am wondering if anyone has done this yet? If so, could you post day and nightime pictures?

Going to buy a green 12V Radio Shack LED in the next couple o f and experiment!

Thanks..

Neil

Well, after spending quite a bit of time in my friend's Mercedes S500, I've decided that this coming week, I'm gonna do green LED accent lights in the overhead console and behind the interior door handles. The only question is how I'm gonna mount the LEDs in the overhead console in a clean way. I've looked at how it is done in the Acura TL with the "slots"...so I'm gonna try to figure out how to make my own slots...
