I know that many of the GS owners bought the McCulloch HID'S on group buy from SUPRATRD about a year and a half ago. They have been great so far, but unfortunately McCulloch has gone out of business and you can no longer buy replacement bulbs. Since one of mine just burned out I thought that I was stuck. I talked to Steve Ganz, SUPRATRD, and of course he had the answer. He is ordering bulbs from Japan that are supposed to fit our conversion kits. So if one of your's burns out, hook up with Steve and he should be able to set you up with replacements.

 

I had a feeling that McCulloch would turn for the worst since I've heard bad reviews from other customers who bought HID kits from them and ended up with burnt out bulbs in 2 months.

honestly if you want the best hid stuff out there, get philips or osram. hella is pretty good too. they are the 3 big dogs easy, with philips being the pioneer. their hid kits, i have had mine for 3 yrs and it's still running strong.

as long as the bulb is 9006 rebased i think it should work. but you probably have to get both at the same time coz' the color will be off.

plus one thing i don't like about McCulloch HID is that their hid bulbs are fake... pretty bad imho

 

i suspect that McCulloch sold their HID business to a Taiwanese? company.

Currently, McCulloch ballasts and bulbs are produced in Taiwan, and due to unstable performance, they have upgraded/replaced their bulbs for at least 5 times during the last 2 years. I do not know how the performance/reliability is of their 5th generation ballasts, but the earlier generations fail easily.

If you are looking for quality, go for HID big names like Philips, Bellof, Catz, ...
