That is awesome.
I always used to argue the weak link in LFA, is the tire. The Potenza S001 are good touring tires, but not great for ultimate grip. PSC tires and Trofeo R are the gold standard when it comes to proper slick racing tires. Those huge shoulder blocks are all business. Easily a 2 - 3 seconds/lap gain on the race track. Please do post detailed review and impressions.

Managed to install new Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tires in oem specification at Longo Lexus. The service advisor John Chang at Longo helped setup everything with the LFA Technican to install the tires carefully on the wheels. Please see attached pictures! Overall impressions driving the car back is that the tires feel less stiff than the oem tires. Also, noise is actually quieter and the traction is top notch! Hope to bring it to a track or on a canyon run soon. Enjoy! |
I am putting some new wheels on mine and will be getting new tires. Did you keep the OEM sizes? |

Are those DOT legal/road approved???? Looks like they're about 1 or 2 steps away from a race tire, don't get caught out in the rain:p
BTW white(and that crazy blue) are my two favorite colors on the LFA. I've never seen an LFA in person, so tell me is that paint like a regular white or is there a pearl coat in it? I know Cadillac has a pretty cool pearl white that has little flecks of blue in it, gives it a very cool sort of effect to the paint, aka really brings out the white and makes it super bright, as opposed to some other pearl whites that have flecks of gold or brown and make the white look more pearl or creamy. |
Cup 2s are road legal, barely

At the time Lexus was taking orders for the LFA, I was told that Whitest White had the highest titanium dioxide content of any automobile paint.

More reflective of light so it appears to be a bright color in the sunlight

The rain held back again
Haven't felt a drop since you went away Outside of town, the hills are brown I guess way out there you'd call 'em golden Lines outside the welfare store The clock is stopped at the bank next door They yelled like hell when the boys left home Now just like you, they're all gone The river runs low tonight And eyes are closed on the waterline The river runs low tonight And you're always drifting through my mind The river runs low tonight And nobody waits for the tide to rise I'm gonna wait till you make The river run high Whoa-oh...Whoa, oooh... The old man's gettin' on Keeps the morning paper in his overcoat It keeps him warm in the cold storm And he told me today I look a little lonely Up in the air they're heading south The sky is light to the west of town With a little cash I could get around You know I'd come out there and find you Whoa... The river runs low tonight And eyes are closed on the waterline The river runs low tonight And you're always drifting through my mind The river runs low tonight And nobody waits for the tide to rise But I'm gonna wait till you make The river run high Whoa-oh...Whoa, oooh...Whoa-oh.... Up in the air they're heading south The sky is light to the west of town With a little cash I could get around You know I'd come out there and find you Whoa... The river runs low tonight And eyes are closed on the waterline The river runs low tonight And you're always drifting through my mind The river runs low tonight And nobody waits for the tide to rise I'm gonna wait till you make The river run high Whoa-oh-oh...Whoa, oooh...oooooo...la-laaa.... And somehow I could just imagine flooring it in the LFA, just outside of town into that 140+mph oblivion of straight away nothingness. |
