Invest in a Valentine V1 and hard wire it in the LFA. I can guarantee it'll save your *** plenty of times because it has with me.

I had Blinders hardwired in my RX350 and first RAV 4 (both since traded), and they worked well. Problem with hard wiring detectors and jammers is the installer usually has to remove the dash to run the wires/install the unit, and I'm not willing to do this with either the LFA or IS F. Just need a good dash-mounted unit...

What was the speed limit on that road ?

Glad that the punishment wasn't severe Luna. Take care, drive safe

same here, i am over the hard wiring days, just dash mount and cigarette power is good enough.

but fwiw, if you just want to hardwire v1 (or other radar detector), it should be pretty trivial to find a switched power up top.

either way, do it. would have saved you

^^ I really like when the V1 is integrated directly into the OEM rearview mirror casing...

Custom / Stealth Rear View Mirror with V1

Like for the 2 IS / IS-F.. Its a super clean install and it looks OEM too..

Luna.. Might be time to upgrade that LFA rearview mirror

I hope I don't sound like a know-it-all, but the 3 cars that I had when I installed a radar detector and upgraded a gentex homelink mirror, I ran the wires along the headliner and inside the A-pillar to tap power into the fuse box by the driver's side.
One car that I had done, I tapped power from the dome light.

There was no need to take out the whole dash.

yup absolutely. taking out the dash, you should never have to do that. even doing jammers in the front and back, at the most you deal with firewall

Wow, I like the suggestions, especially the mirror-mount. Still hesitant to have ANYONE mess with the LFA electronics, however. I have to think the ECU is especially fine-tuned to only what it has now. A mechanic friend noticed last week the engine has two computer modules on board - whole lotta "thinking" in this machine. Will go with the Escort Redline for now...

Awww.....I am sure you are being very modest as you can always buy another. Better yet, a Nurburgring edition next time.
