Default New NSX confirmed hope it brings LFA a good fight

Honda CEO has finally confirmed the next generation NSX is in the making. They axed the previous attempt due to the economic condition, which disappointed many loyal fans.

Not sure if they will keep the V10 developed from that attempt, if they focus on the green approach I doubt the new model will be competitive to the LFA on the race track.

Beautiful video to remember something that was pure in design, and stayed unchanged for 15 years. Love to see a V10 NSX that goes head to head against the LFA. ;-)

Is there any reasonable person out there who honestly thinks this is anything more than a pipe dream? The "next NSX" has been vaporware for pretty much a decade. It's hard for me to believe anything Honda says about it.

Honda used to be one of the performance leaders (if not THE performance leader) among mainstream sports cars. The NSX is one of the greatest vehicles ever made. I still credit the S2000 with having a lot to do with my love for high-revving, naturally-aspirated engines. But since those days, Honda has shown they have no interest in performance innovation or leadership or anything even remotely resembling excitement, and IMO they've lost a lot of their fanbase because of it.

I'll believe it when it rolls off the production line and not a moment before. Honda has disappointed me too many times for me to bother caring about concepts or press releases.

It will be a complete apples to oranges with the LFA since Honda claims it will be a hybrid and the closest real life example they could come up with was the CR-Z. That is not saying much about their philosophy for a "performance exotic supercar".

They're going to bring back the Honda Del Sol, put in the 2.4L I4 engine, add some aero, and call it a day. It's a decade's worth of improvements in Honda's eyes.

The LFA may sleep well, although I hope I'm wrong.

Good read here:

omg HAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAH

There won't be a fight. Their CEO ITO blasted the LFA and exotics for being behind the times at the auto show last yearand V-10s are silly. Mind you he had a V-10 teasing fanbois a year before that. Its funny that while it took ten years to make the LFA, we have heard new NSX rumors for ten years.

Think about that. Lexus built the LFA in ten years and all Honda did for ten years was talk.

Last we heard the new NSX wasn't going to be like the previous one and be V-6 and possibly accord based. Now they are saying it won't be about power but low weight but the NSX was never about power.

They have such a good blueprint with the original NSX its a shame they just refuse to use the same blueprint again. Though if it did supposedly lose 800 million or so then there is no business case for it and the halo effect is negligible. OUtside the MDX, people don't want to pay over $40,000 for a Honda/Acura.
