Considering it was the only car with a special tuning engineer optimizing the car for the test conditions and also was running on very sticky super sport tires, it is actually quite disappointing it still got beaten by the GTR and its lap time was the same as the LFA on very bad tires.

 

I'm not disappointed. The GTR launches like a bat out of a cave. Very few RWD cars can get enough traction off the line like the GTR's AWD system. And who cares if there were Ferrari engineers who showed up. The guy at the beginning of the video already said they did the race just because they can. It's for fun. As in, not meant to be the end of all races.

 

but a track race would have been even more interesting. impressive that gtr for the money eh?

 

There were laps around Laguna Seca of each car. Keep in mind, Lexus LFA was wearing the worst tires with the highest tread wear rating, but it still did quite well. Now, put some proper track compound tires (atleast the Nurburgring edition RE70 tires) on it and it would have seen off most of those other cars:

That's the new GT-R Black Edition with 530 horsepower (versus the previous 485 horsepower) and 448 lb-ft of torque (versus the previous 434 lb-ft)
