That means nothing. The Lexus IS-F is an SP8 car as well, but it lap times are around 9:10- is supposed to be on pace of the LFA? The 458 in the SP8 class is not the same as the 458 from last year- which was close to the GT3 car.
Anyway- The LFA finished 12th overall in this weekend's race. 2 lap down from the leader.

Deadline set to secure GT1 World Championship's future
Deadline set to secure GT1 World Championship's future
FIA GT1 World Championship organisers have been given until August 30 to keep the series alive for next year.
The FIA World Motorsport Council announced on Friday that 10 teams representing 10 different brands must enter the 2013 championship by the deadline.
The most recent round at the Slovakia Ring last weekend featured eight teams, each representing a different brand. However, series promoter Stephane Ratel told this week's AUTOSPORT magazine that he was hopeful of Aston Martin returning for the next round at Algarve and bringing the total to nine manufacturers.
A statement from the WMSC read "In order to set in place the necessary marketing and commercial plans and create stability for the series, the 2013 FIA GT1 World Championship will only be confirmed if 10 teams representing 10 brands enter before August 30, 2012".
Ratel had previously told AUTOSPORT of his desire to get 10 brands sewn up for 2013 by a self-imposed deadline of July 29.

Lexus Test Driver
Yeah, that sucks they have a race car ready to race, but they have not been racing in the GT1 class with this car.
Next year the homologation license will also expire since LFA will go out of production so if the rumors of a sequel of LFA (knowns as LFA II) is in the works then we might have a chance of seeing it in the race and definitely in the Nurburgring 24-hours race.

GT1 cars are GT3 vehicles like the Audi R8LMS, BMW Z4 GT3 etc. The LFA GTE is just a concept test mule. GTE is an ACO sanctioned racing car term, not an FIA one. If the LFA would participate in GT1 in the future, the rules would have to be changed. I'd love to see it, but I doubt it's going to happen.
