That is definitely very cool . I think that is why he parked the car right after the tire blew .

I want him to be proved wrong when he sees it unveiled a week away and then be lucky enough to guarantee one for himself if he decided to purchase it. lol that way ill get to drive it often when i take trips to Austin. He has been looking at the R8 as well.

I really doubt youll ever see this car more than 5 times in your whole life if toyota is truly only building 150 in the US and never again.
We all hope someone on CL will buy one, it will definitely "WOW" everyone 3 times over. LOL

Just curious but where are you getting the 150 number?

Was informed from dealerships straight form the GM who was informed from the regional manager (supposedly) that 500 are being produced worldwide...350RHD, and 150LHD ....form the 150 LHD , approxiamltey 50 have been already sold, give or take a few cars that will go to the dealerhsip owners who placed their confirmed orders some as early as two years ago when the concept car was in its infancy stage during the LFA-I timephase. My guess is that since lexus brought out the LFA-I concept, dealer owners just placed their name with lexus to guarantee them one if they were to build it

that leaves 100 LF-A's for basically the general public and im guessing those are going ot be sold out within minutes after it is unveiled. This is straight from two GM;s and both local dealers are NOT sister stores.

I was also told the transaction will be odne purely by lexus corporate and NOT by the dealership at all. One GM told me he foresees a true-time tracking of some kind for each new lucky owner where the real-time build and tracking of the owners vehicle of some kind will be very provided by lexus straight from japan.

luxury compared to McLaren F1... not luxury compared to LS.

Luxury weights and when you are making car like this, you end up with deducting things that might not be as important (things like HUD and all these luxury "gizmos" we expect these days).

More like sound proofing, sound systems and heavy seats. HUD would be welcomed!!!!

Well this could possibly spoil the party for some people. Looking at the 2008 race LF-A engine bay, it has "# 447" on the engine. One of the race LF-As from this year had "557 PS" written on the engine. People took that to mean the production V10 will have roughly 550 HP. That may or may not be true, and these numbers on the engine blocks might just be Toyota playing with us and providing false information .

You can't see the V10 entirely because it sits very far back and deep in the engine bay. But yes, for a V10 it is quite small and compact.

I think it would be cool to have a HUD while speeding along in the LFA though.

Length-wise not much can be done, due to cylinder count. Height and width can vary due to various factors such as packaging of the engine ancillaries, and the V angle, not to mention engine displacement.

Compared to other production V10 engines on the market, the LFA's V10 is quite small displacement-wise, and very high revving for a V10.
