FS: SC400 (5 speed manual)
Need this gone! More money in the parts than Im selling for.
The car is not running. What essentially happened was that the stock ECU had a short in it and it would not start all the time. Just an ECU related problem solely. When the car started it ran great! But this was the second ecu I had to replace so I decided to go a different route. I wanted to go aftermarket to get a good tune and have something ready if I did ever go with boost. Well two shops later, over 6 months, and alot of miscommunication from the shops Ive thrown my hands up and given up. I dont personally have the time or knowledge to wire it back to stock and I dont want to pay these shops for the work after ive been mistreated by them. If someone can figure it out or it just needs to go back to stock. This would require a new stock engine harness and a stock ecu. Not a huge undertaking but im just over it. Car itself is in great shape.
Im asking $2,500. I loved this car to death but I just cant allocate my time to it right now with work and school. Thanks for looking!
Details:
-1993 SC400 with original 1UZ-FE (just barely over 100k)
-Owner since 2007, bought with 62k on odometer
-Repainted stock color in 2008
-Clean title
-Custom exhaust2.5" piping with magnaflow x-pipe and magnaflow 14326 mufflers going into 4" magnaflow tips, gutted cats.
- K&N cone airfilter
-W58 5 speed transmission put in around 90k. No grinds, easy to shift, brand new slave cylinder and throwout bearing.
-Supra TT shocks with Eibach Pro lowering springs
-Lexus IS350 18" rims (staggered)
-Redone leather from leatherseats.com for the rear seats, arm rests and center arm rests.
-Front seats are black cloth 99' celica seats (passengers has some small hole in it but they are over all very clean)
-Stereo upgrades: Alpine IVA-W505 HU, Alpine Type-S SPS17C speakers at all four corners, Alpine MRP-F250 4-Channel amp, Kicker CVX10 Sub in Kicker spec box, TMA 500.1 mono amp.
-LS400 front calipers and rotors (painted black)
-This is a biggie. The door panels are perfect! The wood is in great condition.
History: I have record of every repair and major purchase I have made. Timing belt, coils, wires, ect. all up to date. New radiator,
Bads: Trunk struts need to be replaced, one rear turn signal leaks some, needs rear tires, steering wheel leather is worn and the shift **** is too. Lextech blue needles are out but they will fix them for free (lifetime warranty/have receipt), one of the side markers is missing, window trim is cracked (very common)

so did you ever figure out what happened that killed 2 stock ECU's?
Asking because I'm interested but don't want the headache if I buy the car, a new harness and ECU only for it to blow out again.

Some of the stock ECUs will develop a small short in the ignition where it will turn over but not actually start. It was because of any mods, it just occasionally occurs and I got the short straw. When the short didnt occur the car ran perfectly. A good stock ECU would have fixed the problem but I decided to go aftermarket but it just didnt work out with the shops.
